VDL x Belif Review

Happy (belated) Mid-Autumn Festival!

By now, you should be able to tell that I love finding the right skincare! And I love recommending products I’ve tried that have worked for me. Influenster Canada sent me a VoxBox recently with four products for me to try (pictured above).

I will be breaking them down individually for y’all today..

BELIF

Eucalyptus Herbal Extract Toner (6.75 oz)

Toner is very important in your skincare regime. If you haven’t started including a toner into your routine, this may be a great start if you have oily skin like I do. Toner helps to balance the skin, keep it hydrated, help prep for the rest of your skincare regime. But most importantly, it acts as an additional makeup remover! Sometimes if you remove your makeup first, then cleanse, not all makeup will be removed, so toner helps to do all that I just mentioned.

Belif’s Eucalyptus Herbal Extract Toner is formulated with apple mint and as the name suggests, eucalyptus. This botanical toner soothes the skin, and is formulated to improve the appearance of combination to oily skin, helping it tone, balance and hydrate after cleansing. With continued use, the pores will be clarified and the texture of your skin will be smoothed.

Since it is formulated with eucalyptus and apple mint, the apothecary herbal ingredient help minimize the appearance of sebum and surface shine, helping to soothe the breakouts on your skin.

Formulated without:

  • Parabens

  • Sulfates

  • Phthalates

  • Mineral oil

  • Synthetic preservatives

  • Dyes/Fragrances

  • No animal origin ingredients

MY THOUGHTS

Upon first application of the product, it felt great on my skin, and smells great! I didn’t have high expectations at first because I have used products that are meant to be good for oily/combination skin, however, previous products never really did much. This toner however helped keep my skin moisturized, and helped to control the oil even without the other products! I would highly recommend this product for those who struggle with shine as well.

Belif Oil Control Fresh Moisturizer (4.22 oz)

IMG_4751.JPG

Belif’s Oil Control Fresh Moisturizer helps to control oil, refine pores, and leaves the skin feeling hydrated and smooth. This product is uniquely formulated through time-tested apothecary herbs including rosehip, which is a powerful vitaminn-C packed ingredient. This lightweight texture controls the oils in your skin, while refining pores and providing hydration for a smooth, and fresh feel.

Formulated without:

  • Parabens

  • Sulfates

  • Phthalates

  • Mineral oil

  • Synthetic preservatives

  • Dyes/Fragrances

  • No animal origin ingredients

MY THOUGHTS

This moisturizer is great for the warmer seasons, as it is very lightweight. At first it did not seem like enough moisture as i like thick moisturizers, but I gave this one a chance. It is a great product and does the job! It truly does moisturize my skin while helping to control the oil. It works even better when the two oil control products (toner and moisturizer) are used together. I tried using a different toner that I had with this moisturizer, and vise versa (Belif toner with different moisturizer) and I still had less oil than I usually do.

VDL COSMETICS

Satin Veil Primer

 (taken from vdlcosmetics.com)

(taken from vdlcosmetics.com)

This primer from VDL Cosmetics is a primer that provides a glassy smooth texture to the skin as if you’re wearing a silk veil, hence the name. There is not much information on this product on the VDL Cosmetics website. So I cannot provide you with any information, as I do not have the packaging either.

First impressions: This product almost feels like a silicone primer. There are many primers in the market that are silicone-based, and are really not my top choice. This product does provide a matte finish to your makeup, and helps to provide a long-lasting matte finish all throughout the day. If you do not like silicone primers, I would not suggest this.

Lumilayer Primer Fresh

VDL Cosmetics created this primer meant to brighten up your skin with a translucent luminosity and voluminous light while leaving your skin smooth.

There is a violet lumilayer pigment in this product made by combining skin-brightening red light and blue light for clean and clear skin to illuminate the face and highlighting features on your face.

First impressions: This product is much better in comparison to the other primer. This applies like a moisturizer, and is sparkly! The product is infused with a pigment that provides a glow to the face, highlighting your features and moisturizing your skin as well. I would recommend this product over satin silk primer.

Try mixing this product in with your foundation for a better glow! After applying foundation, I found no illumination, only if I used this product alone.

I have attached a few photos where I have used all of the products together under my makeup application. As you can see in the last photo, it is night time, and after 8 hours I am barely oily!

That is all folks!

Thank you again so much for tuning in! Let me know if you have oily skin as well, and if this review helped you! If there are any products in which you think I should check out, let me know in the comments!

With love,
